Eye Magic Size Guide: How to Choose the Right Eyelid Lift Strips for Your Eyes

Eye Magic Size Guide: How to Choose the Right Eyelid Lift Strips for Your Eyes

If you have ever stood in front of a product page wondering whether you need Small, Medium or Large, you are not alone. Choosing a size is one of the most common questions we hear before a first order, and it is a fair one. Eyelid lift strips sit right in the fold of your upper lid, so a strip that suits your eye shape will feel more comfortable and look more natural than one that does not. This guide walks you through each Eye Magic option, gives you a simple mirror check you can do at home, and helps you decide where to start.

Why Picking the Right Size Matters

Eye Magic strips are a non-surgical way to create an instant, more lifted look on a hooded or heavy upper lid. Each strip is transparent and low-profile, with a hypoallergenic, latex-free adhesive already applied. Because the strip works by supporting the skin along your natural crease, its length and shape make a real difference.

A strip that is too long for your lid can reach past the outer corner of your eye, where it may catch the light or lift at the edge when you blink. A strip that is too short may support only part of the hooded area, so the lift looks uneven from the inner corner to the outer corner. When the size is right, the strip follows the curve of your lid from end to end, tucks into the fold, and stays discreet.

The good news is that most women find their size quickly. And if your first choice is not quite right, it is easy to switch, which we cover below.

The Eye Magic Size Lineup, Explained Plainly

Here is what each option includes and who it tends to suit. All strips-only sizes come with a pre-applied adhesive, so there is nothing extra to add.

Small (88 count)

The Small strip is the shortest and most compact option. It suits smaller or narrower eyes, lids with mild hooding, and women who mainly want a little lift through the center of the lid. Many women with petite features, or who have a shorter distance from the inner to the outer corner of the eye, find that Small follows their lid line neatly without reaching too far.

Medium / Regular Size (80 count)

Medium, also called Regular Size, is where most women start. It fits the widest range of eye shapes and works well for moderate hooding across the lid. If you are unsure, have no strong reason to choose otherwise, and your mirror check (below) gives you a middle-of-the-road answer, Medium is a sensible first choice.

Large (80 count)

The Large strip is longer, made for wider eyes or more pronounced hooding that runs toward the outer corner. If the fold of skin on your upper lid extends well past the outer edge of your iris, or you find that a shorter strip leaves the outer part of your lid heavy, Large is worth considering.

Starter Kit (64 count, with gel)

The Starter Kit is designed for first-time users who want a little of everything in one box. It includes 64 strips along with a gel. It is a good fit if you like to have the full kit on hand while you learn how the strips work with your eyes. If you would rather keep things simple, any strips-only size works on its own because the adhesive is already on the strip.

Combo Pack (128 count)

The Combo Pack is a larger supply that is handy once you know what works for you, or if you would like to have more than one size on hand. Some women find their two eyes are not quite the same shape, or that they prefer a slightly different length on different days. A larger pack gives you room to use what suits each eye best.

A Simple Mirror Check to Find Your Size

You do not need a ruler or any special tools. All you need is a mirror in good, even light and a minute or two.

  1. Look straight ahead with a relaxed face. Do not raise your eyebrows or smile. Hold the mirror at eye level so you see your lids as others do.
  2. Find your natural crease. Gently close one eye and look for the fold line on your upper lid. Open your eye again and notice where the skin above that line rests.
  3. Notice where the hooding is. Is the extra skin mostly in the center of your lid, spread evenly across it, or heavier toward the outer corner? Center-focused hooding often suits Small or Medium. Hooding that extends toward the outer corner often suits Large.
  4. Look at the length of your lid. Picture a line along your crease from just past the inner corner to just before the outer corner. A shorter line points toward Small, an average line toward Medium, and a longer line toward Large.
  5. Check both eyes. It is very common for one eye to be a little more hooded than the other. If they differ noticeably, consider the Combo Pack so you can try what suits each side.

If your answers land in between, start with Medium. It is the most forgiving size and gives you a useful reference point for adjusting later.

Common Sizing Mistakes

A few habits lead people to the wrong size. Knowing them can save you a reorder.

Choosing by face size. A larger face does not always mean longer eyelids, and a petite face does not always mean shorter ones. Go by the length of your lid and where the hooding sits, not your overall features.

Choosing by eye color or lash length. These do not affect fit at all. Strip size is about the shape of the fold, nothing else.

Mistaking a placement issue for a size issue. This is the most common one. If a strip shows, lifts at an edge, or does not give the look you expected, the cause is often where it sits rather than how long it is. Placing the strip too low, right on the lash line, gives less lift. Placing it too high can feel tight or look unnatural. For most women, the ideal spot is in the natural crease. Before changing sizes, try adjusting placement for a few days. Our How to Apply guide shows exactly where to place the strip.

Handling the adhesive. Touching the sticky side with your fingers can weaken the hold and make any size seem like a poor fit. Use tweezers to lift each strip off its paper backing and position it, then press it into place with a fingertip on the non-adhesive side.

Judging after one try. Like most new routines, it takes a few applications to get comfortable. Give yourself a handful of tries before deciding a size is wrong.

Starter Kit vs. Strips-Only Refills: Where Should You Begin?

If you are brand new to eyelid lift strips and like having a complete kit to learn with, the Starter Kit is a comfortable place to begin. Its 64 strips give you plenty of practice while you find your preferred placement.

If you already know your size, or you simply want the easiest routine, choose a strips-only size: Small, Medium or Large. Each comes with a pre-applied adhesive, so there is nothing else to add. Peel, place, press, and you are done.

Once you have settled on what works, the strips-only sizes and the Combo Pack are the practical choices for keeping a steady supply at home. For tips on keeping your strips in good condition between uses, see our guide to storing, reusing and traveling with your strips.

What If Your First Size Isn't Quite Right?

It happens, and it is easy to fix. Here is a simple way to think it through:

  • The strip reaches past your outer corner or catches when you blink: try one size smaller.
  • The outer part of your lid still looks heavy: try one size larger, after first checking placement.
  • The lift looks uneven between your eyes: your eyes may simply differ. Try a different size on one side, or consider the Combo Pack.
  • The strip shows or lifts at the edges: revisit placement and handling before switching sizes. Make sure your lids are clean and dry, with no oils or creams, before you apply.
